Last year, I was asked to make an Easter Bonnet for Broadway Cares, representing Come From Away. With what amounted to 2 days to make it before the dress rehearsal, I knew we didn't have a lot of time.
So, I bought a blow up globe and cut out the bottom. |
I got some fiberfill and air packing. |
As I stuffed, I joked that it was the "closest I'm ever going to get to stuffing a Thanksgiving turkey" |
I made arrows saying "Gander" and "You are here" . I used a chopstick to pierce the globe where Gander is, so the arrow would be pointing to it. I also hot glued the globe to a piece of cardboard to make a flat surface. |
Our model, Aspen Waddell, came in and
we realized how wobbly and heavy this actually was. |
Our stitcher, Estella Marie, suggested that we add 38 planes on ribbon to help her balance. |
It worked! |
I then sprayed a lot of glitter hair spray. |
I learned quite a bit doing this bonnet and plan on using those lessons in the 2019 Easter Bonnet. Stay Tuned!
