Sometimes, simple makes a big impact

 In July of 2022, one of stage managers of Come From Away left to work on Broadway Vacation.  Natalie of the Junkyard Dogs had an idea for his going away gift and knew exactly who could make the vision come to reality.  The idea?  A figure in a CFA t-shirt.

 I suggested Batman.   The supplies that were bought were a Batman Doll and Baby T-shirts, in the color Royal, size 12 months

Using the internet, I found a few images, cropped them and then printed on  dark Iron-on Transfer Paper, using the 3X5 print setting.

And yes, I decided that Batman needed a few looks.

I cut them out, leaving a little tail so that I could remove the images from the paper, which then I trimmed away.  The t-shirts were washed/dried on hot before I put the image on.  I let them cool overnight.  (Mainly because it was time to go home!)

Ready to be boxed.

This was a quick project that everyone enjoyed.   Sometimes, simple makes a big impact!

Bird feeders, revisited

In Nov of 2020, I was so moved by the story of Rocky the Owl, that I reached out to Ravensbeard Wildlife Center and made them some bird feeders, mostly owls.

This month, I worked on painted birds for Raven Ridge Wildlife Center.  The project was thru Relief Crafters of America.  I was very excited to figure out the project, so I made my first tutorial.

One thing that I realized is that the beak might need to be a bit more opened.  If so, please take a small triangle nick at the bottom.  Also, a slightly more liquid acrylic is better than a thick one for the base layer.
