What does one do when a company no longer makes the sneaker colorway that you need for your show? That was the question a few months ago over at Come From Away when
De'Lon Grant needed new Adidas. Now, this is not as exciting as some of the artistry that I'm seeing in the
custom kicks community, but it is the sort of thing we need to do for theatre/film.
I ordered a pair of
Adidas Samoa in all white. De'lon really likes this sole.
Then I painted the stripes and the back.
I managed to find
Gold Logo Decals and Jim Hodun, one of the dressers, put them on the back. Frankly, I was relieved that I didn't need to freehand the logo!

The sneakers were also distressed using some brown and grey spray paint and a wipe down of acetone. Then a bit more spray. The sneakers just need to look a bit lived in.
